Matix POS — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SiSMatix (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Matix POS mobile application (the “App”, package com.Sismatix.Pos). Matix POS is a business point-of-sale application used by cashiers and staff of merchants that subscribe to our service. It is not a consumer app and does not serve advertising.

1. Information we process

• Account & authentication data — the username/PIN and access token used to sign a cashier in to their employer’s account. Tokens are stored securely on the device (Android Keychain/Keystore).
• Business & transaction data — orders, items, prices, discounts, customers, shifts and receipts that the staff member creates while operating the point of sale. This data belongs to the merchant and is processed on their behalf.
• Device permissions used for features:
  • Camera — used only to scan product barcodes/QR codes. Images are processed on-device and are not stored or uploaded.
  • Bluetooth — used only to connect to thermal receipt printers on the local network/pairing. We do not collect location through Bluetooth (the scan is flagged “never for location”).
  • Internet — used to communicate with the merchant’s Matix POS backend.

2. How we use the information

• To authenticate the staff member and secure access to the merchant’s point of sale.
• To create and synchronize sales, receipts and related business records with the merchant’s account.
• To provide core POS features (barcode scanning, receipt printing, shift management).

3. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. Business and account data is transmitted only to the merchant’s own Matix POS backend and infrastructure operated by us for the purpose of running the service. We share data with third parties only where required by law.

4. Data storage & security

Data in transit is protected with HTTPS/TLS. Authentication tokens are held in the device secure keystore. Business records are stored in the merchant’s database and retained for as long as the merchant’s account is active or as required by applicable accounting/tax law.

5. Data retention & deletion

Because Matix POS processes data on behalf of merchants, deletion requests for transactional records are handled through the merchant (data controller). To request deletion of an individual staff account or to raise a privacy question, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Children

Matix POS is a business tool intended for use by merchant staff and is not directed to children under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
